“To Feed” is a continuation of an archival series of recipes Maya Elena started at Bard College in 2023. Maya Elena presented this installation at Anderson Ranch Arts Center during the 2023 Intern Show, 'Table for Fourteen'.

 

Six second hand napkins were sewn together to form a tablecloth and dyed with Yarrow collected from the local area. With fourteen hand written recipes collected from the 2023 Interns at Anderson Ranch screen-printed onto the fabric.

Through this series Maya Elena would like to continue to create an archive of comfort recipes and conversations held amongst members of the community. Starting with the question “What recipe brings you comfort?” Food holds tradition, history and support for many people. What does a recipe hold for you? 

Using the same question, Maya Elena posed this question to the 2023 Interns at Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass, Colorado as well as the public who attended the installation.
